Abstract:[Abstract] Objective: To explore the anti-Alzheimer's disease activity of graded polysaccharides from Kadsura Pepper Stem. Methods: Three concentrations (40%, 60% and 80%) of the polysaccharides (KPSP1, KPSP2 and KPSP3) were prepared by graded alcohol precipitation, and the sugar content of the graded polysaccharides was determined by phenol-sulfuric acid method. CL4176 Caenorhabditis elegans was used as a model organism to observe the effect of graded polysaccharides on nematode lifespan, paralysis, stress ability, and O2-, ROS and Aβ contents in C. elegans. Results: The sugar contents of KPSP1, KPSP2 and KPSP3 were 57.45%, 65.32% and 70.26%, and the results showed that the graded polysaccharides from Kadsura Pepper Stem at the optimal concentrations prolonged the nematodes by 38.35%, 42.02% and 39.13%, which could alleviate the paralysis rate of C. elegans and reduce the contents of O2-, ROS and Aβ in C. elegans to a certain extent. Conclusion:The polysaccharides of Kadsura Pepper Stem have good antioxidant activity and anti-Alzheimer's disease activity. |
